Welcome Note

01 June 2025

Hello,

You are one of the first visitors to reach The Inner Hut. I'm glad you found it.

The Inner Hut has not long appeared in this quiet, farflung outpost of the digital landscape. It came into being as night ebbed into dawn this morning.

Few people yet know about it. It borrows from a time when things were only shared by word of mouth.

I have been daydreaming and building The Inner Hut little by little over the past few months, years even. The idea can be traced back more than a decade. The Inner Hut draws inspiration from many quarters and ultimately seeks to celebrate wildness, nature and simplicity.

It is perhaps not as ready as I'd hoped it to be. But today marks 15 years of a different beginning - when I moved to live in a cottage by the sea in the place of my childhood.

This place forms much of what The Inner Hut is about and where the idea first emerged. So it made sense to finally unveil the The Inner Hut today, come rain or shine.

While it may seem a little sparse around here, everything has to start somewhere. But beginnings are also fleeting one-offs, soon merging into a bigger, continous whole.

This is the beauty of beginnings, I suppose - a tiny green shoot emerging from a seed; the first steps of a journey; the opening of a book. How The Inner Hut will grow and unfold remains to be seen.

The Inner Hut will never be more simple than it is now. So I appreciate this moment for what it is - the beginning.

For now, please take a look around and find what you can. Drop in over the coming days and weeks to see how things take shape. You can also leave your details below to ensure you receive word from The Inner Hut every now and then.

Thank you for visiting.
