The Inner Hut is a digital sanctuary dedicated to wildness, nature and simplicity.

It is a place of the imagination, inspired by real life on the edge of a windswept bay in south-east Scotland and many long journeys on foot in the distant lands beyond.

The idea originated as a personal creative space for writing, photography, documenting, and storytelling.

It then found its name, which comes from an old family saying.

The Inner Hut is to be discovered, like finding a secluded mountain refuge in one's hour of need; a sanctuary from the storm.

Inside, the glow of firelight flickers among shadows.

The elements are ever present: rain hammers on the roof; wind whistles through the cracks.

This is The Inner Hut. Appreciation, observance, being, belonging.

Welcome. Rest up and dwell a while.
